Educational Visit of L5 CSA Students to Tumba College of Technology

Date: April 29, 2026

Students from Level 5 Computer Systems and Architecture (CSA) at College de Bethel / APARUDE conducted an educational visit to Tumba College of Technology. This visit aimed to enhance students’ practical knowledge, expose them to real-world technological environments, and strengthen the connection between theoretical learning and industrial application. The visit provided an opportunity for students to explore various departments and laboratories, gaining hands-on experience and deeper insights into modern technologies used in industry.

Departments and Laboratories Visited

🔹 Mechatronics Department – Industrial Electricity

The visit began in the Mechatronics Department, where students focused on Industrial Electricity. They were introduced to electrical control systems, industrial wiring, and basic automation concepts.

Through guided demonstrations, students observed how electrical systems function in industrial settings. This session helped them understand the importance of safety, efficiency, and system control in real-world applications.

🔹 Manufacturing Laboratory

In the Manufacturing Laboratory, students explored different industrial production processes. They observed how machines and tools are used to shape and produce mechanical components. The session provided insight into material processing, machine operation, and production efficiency. Students gained a better understanding of how raw materials are transformed into finished products, emphasizing the importance of precision and quality control.

🔹 Automation Laboratory

During the visit to the Automation Laboratory, students were introduced to modern automation systems used in industries to improve productivity and reduce manual effort. A key highlight was the use of a 3D printer integrated with SOLIDWORKS. Students learned how digital designs created in SOLIDWORKS are converted into physical objects through 3D printing. They observed the full process from design to production enhancing their understanding of the relationship between software design and hardware implementation.

🔹 Electronics Laboratory

In the Electronics Laboratory, students explored essential electronic components and systems. They were introduced to the use of an oscilloscope for analyzing electrical signals and observing waveforms. Students also learned about logic gates, which form the foundation of digital electronics and computer systems. Additionally, they observed embedded systems integrated with various sensors, helping them understand how systems collect data and perform automated functions in real-life applications.

At the end of the visit, students were given the opportunity to ask questions, allowing them to clarify concepts and deepen their understanding of the technologies they had observed.

The trainers and facilitators highly appreciated the students for their active participation, discipline, and interest shown throughout the visit. In return, the students expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and the valuable knowledge shared. The visit concluded with a formal farewell, marking the end of a productive and insightful educational experience.

This educational visit to Tumba College of Technology has been highly beneficial for L5 CSA students. It provided practical exposure to modern technologies, strengthened their technical skills, and inspired them to better understand their future roles in the field of computer systems and engineering.

Such experiences play a crucial role in preparing students for the professional world by combining academic knowledge with real-life application.
